JANUMET XR is a prescription medicine that contains 2 prescription diabetes medicines, sitagliptin and extended-release metformin. JANUMET XR can be used along with diet and exercise to lower blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes.

Jardiance (empagliflozin) is an oral diabetes medicine that helps control blood sugar levels. Empagliflozin works by helping the kidneys get rid of glucose from your bloodstream. Jardiance is used together with diet and exercise to improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Empagliflozin is used to treat type 2 diabetes in adult patients (aged 18 years and older) that cannot be controlled by diet and exercise alone. Empagliflozin can be used without other medicines in patients who cannot take Metformin (another diabetes medicine). Empagliflozin can also be used with other medicines for treating diabetes.
